This July 4th weekend marks a once-in-a-generation milestone — the 250th birthday of the United States of America. To honor this extraordinary occasion, the cities of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee are joining forces for an unforgettable two-day celebration.

Spanning both sides of the state line, our Twin Cities come together as one community to celebrate freedom, family, and the American spirit.

The Twin Cities Celebrate

The cities of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee sit at a unique place in America — literally straddling the state line, united by the Toccoa/Ocoee River and a shared history stretching back generations. This summer, both cities are proud to host a full weekend of patriotic events for residents, families, and visitors from across the region.

From the Freedom Parade through both downtowns to the Great American Rodeo at Copperhill Ballpark, from the Fishing Rodeo on the Toccoa River to the Twin Cities Market on the historic steel bridge that connects our two states — every event is designed to bring people together in the spirit of community and freedom.

Between the festivities, we invite you to explore everything our twin cities have to offer. Stroll through our charming downtowns, browse unique local shops, and savor a meal at one of our hometown restaurants. Whether you're grabbing a bite before the parade or discovering a one-of-a-kind treasure at a local boutique, shopping and dining locally is its own way of celebrating — putting your dollars directly back into the communities that make this weekend possible.
